| Thought I'd post some of the "action shots" from our recent transmission conversion on a 1994 TT. It also proved to be a great project to break-in the new garage space. This was our first time through this and we took a few pointers from TECH write-ups and a few emails here & there. This project will serve as the basis for the write up that I've owed to Sport Z Magazine for a while now so I guess you can expect it in the early 2006 issues. The new home for my Z projects:
On to the fun stuff: Jeremy ready for take off:
Spencer starts tearing the console apart:
DS removed and auto trans just about ready to come out:
 Trans out:
Making the opening for the clutch pedal is actually pretty simple. The car has a blank out w. 2 spot welds holding it in place. I just scored the edge of the paint around it to keep it from tearing and broke apart the spot welds:

OEM TT flywheel back from the machine shop, they did a beautiful job resurfacing it for us:
We installed all the factory clutch hard lines & shields with the motor in the car which took a bit of patience & thought but IMHO really pays off in the end. Our goal was to make this as 100% close to stock looking & functioning as reasonable possible.
Fluid line junction w. heat shield:
Jeremy's frame rail already had the mount for the clutch line on it, we use the CZP braided line in place of a stock rubber line:
New center support going on the OEM 5 Speed drive shaft (upper), compare the length difference to the auto unit (below):
Driveshaft installed w. SPL solid Urethane transmission mount:
 Ah thats better:

The clutch bleeder high point on the PS fender was very useful for getting the whole system bleed down:
Pulling all the part together for this project took a solid local & remote team effort and I'd like to give a few people credit here: 5 Speed TT Transmission -> Noyan USA, local JDM part importer. Came w. 1 month, unlimited mileage warranty. [ http://www.noyanusa.com/ ] Clutch line, 5 Speed transmission harness, JWT clutch -> Concept Z Performance [ www.CZP.us ] Transmission Mount -> SPL Parts [ www.splparts.com ] NA clutch pedal & master cylinder ->Z1 Motorsports [ www.300ZX.com ] Flywheel -> Ashley TTXTZ Drive shaft -> from my parts pile but I think it's originally John Park's Shifter boot support ring ->Woody 5 speed brake pedal -> Zeus clutch hard lines, clutch & flywheel bolts, trans shields and misc hardware came from my box of "transmission parts for Jeremy" thatI'm glad to be rid off after a year or so. The Sport Z write up will be a bit more nitty gritty of the details & how to's that we worked out so keep an eye out for it :-)
